We sat down with one of our Office Managers, Paula to discuss 10 very important and also not so important questions.

1. What are you doing at receeve?
I am an Office Manager, which means I support the team on various different things and no day is alike.

2. Where are you located?
I live in Vila do Conde, Portugal.

3. How did you end up at receeve?
I was looking for an opportunity to work remotely doing what I like, in an interesting environment and alongside a great mix of people.

4. Why did you choose to work for receeve and why working in collections?
The ability to work remotely was the first thing that drew me to the job but as I got to know more and more about receeve during my recruitment process and I got to meet with several different people, I realised how interesting the product being developed and how great and welcoming the team was.

I can’t say that I have a lot of knowledge about the collections world but getting to learn new things and see first-hand how a product such as this one can help modernise the collections business has been really interesting.

5. What is your morning routine before starting your work?
I get my son ready for school and we always have breakfast as a family. Then I have my coffee and if I still have time I try to do a bit of yoga before our daily team sync.

6. Do you prefer remote work or going to the office?
I enjoy working remotely, being able to create a nice work-family balance and not waste any time commuting when I can instead finish work and go out for a nice walk. I also like the opportunity to get to know and work alongside so many different people from so many different places. I just find it so great that I can be sitting at my desk in Portugal while discussing some ideas with colleagues that can be anywhere else in the world at that time.

7. Why working in a Start-up?
I like being part of something that is growing and innovative. Working at a startup is challenging in a way that you are constantly implementing processes from scratch but that is what also makes it great because you are continuously learning and evolving.

8. How does your perfect “Feierabend” (German term for time in the evening after work) look like?
It really depends on the day of the week. I love meeting friends for dinner or coffee (even though nowadays that is a bit difficult) but during the week, a great evening is spent with my family. We live by the beach so after work I just love to go out for a nice walk or run and catch a glimpse of the sun setting. That, followed up by a nice family dinner and some time to relax while watching a movie or a TV show is a great evening for me.

9. With whom of the company would you like to switch jobs for one day?
Interesting…I can’t think of anyone in particular, but perhaps someone from the Product team as it must be exciting to be part of the brainstorming meetings and coming up with new ideas.

10. Who would you like to nominate for the next interview?
