We sat down with our Content Marketing Manager, Zac to discuss 10 very important and also not so important questions.
- What are you doing at receeve?
As a Content Marketing Manager, I’m creating and publishing content that connects with our target audience on an emotional and intellectual level. My overall goal is to help our sales team generate more leads and help our customer support team have the tools they need to train and assist our customers with onboarding. I enjoy working collaboratively on creative and research driven projects and helping my company and team members succeed in promoting a more positive side to the debt collections business.
- Where are you located?
Originally from Northern California, though I have lived in Hamburg, Germany for almost 7 years.
- How did you end up at receeve?
I was looking for an opportunity to work in technology and in a startup environment where I could share my 10 plus years of experience in video production and storytelling. I also wanted to work in an environment where I could hone in on my marketing skills in content writing and strategy for an international audience.
- Why did you choose to work for receeve and why work in collections?
I chose receeve because of the size of the team and how we could collaborate and experiment on creative projects. I also liked the uniqueness of the product and market focus. The vision of disrupting a massive industry and helping provide a better path for debt collections and making it more end-customer centric was something I knew I could align with.
- What is your morning routine before starting your work?
I usually start with some stretching or a short workout. I’m a huge fan of my Black Roll. After that I usually like to read a bit and also write in my notebook while enjoying a cup of coffee. All of this combined helps me to stay healthy and get focused for each day.
- Do you prefer remote work or going to the office?
I’m very new to remote working situations and as I slowly get used to the experience I think remote work has its advantages. I mean, being able to join a meeting with my bluetooth headphones and turn off the camera and mic off for a second so I can get in a couple jumping jacks in or go grab a juice or coffee without even missing a moment, that’s pretty darn unique and helpful.
- Why are you working in a start-up?
Similar to what I said before, I like the idea of working in a small team atmosphere and being able to collaborate on different creative projects. I also like that we are very agile and flexible as a team and we can work on different projects individually or as a team. And finally startups usually involve a lot of quick thinking and experimentation and I wanted to gain more experience in these areas so that I could develop and evolve my skills as a content expert and manager.
- What does your perfect “Feierabend” (German term for time in the evening after work) look like?
For me it really depends on the day of the week. For instance, Fridays are dedicated to baseball training and preparing for the weekend’s games. Although, on any other day I’m easily down for going on a walk in the park or enjoying a nice piney or fruity mug of craft beer while blasting the music on the Sonos and reflecting on the day.
- With whom of the company would you like to switch jobs for one day?
Nobody. I enjoy my role as a Content Marketing Manager and developing content that our target audience can appreciate. I like creating content that helps our sales team reach out to customers in all the different ways.
